Wimbledon college of Art (Ba)Hons: Fine Art: Painting
Degree Show Week.
Set up was a lot of work, respect to my friends on the course for all of the help. Come the opening I was sleeping on the couch as we had visitors down every day from the North, support from the family a big highlight. During set up I had decided to offer most of the work on loan to the Institutions involved in the making of the work. The sponsors had a look around the show the day before the private view.

My cousin turned up whose degree show I seen last year in Sunderland, and he helped me take the show down, we went to one of my tutors openings and we had a weekend seeing the sights in London. Most of my mates who never made it are receiving a postcard exhibition over the next few weeks. Here are some photos of the show.
We are down to the last week in the studios & I have to complete the large paintings, and take most of my materials home. That done it is time to at home complete some smaller paintings and organize the Research Journals.
I will update my showtime page and Saatchi online site and plan to present an e-portfolio at my mobileme space.

On Tuesday we begin setting up our spaces and no doubt prepare our work.
Were now all Setting up the exhibition working in teams. All that is left is to do some tweeks to the space and. hang the work
In preparation for the show I have completed 3 Botany Books from the natural history museum and begun painting a stack of research from the course, the paperwork behind the degree and a pile of books on the artist collectors from my dissertation – Mark Dion, Fischli & Weiss, Peter Blake, Richard Prince, Susan Hiller. I have recently had many subjects routed in the theme of the analogue, collections, books, slides, stacks of papers vinyl and the turntable. I have also started a couple of small paintings of record shops. With plenty to keep me busy I am down to the last 2 weeks of painting, with files, folders & forms needing attention.
I made on-site still-life Drawings in the study rooms of the V&A, in the National Art Library and Sir John Soane Museum then began taking photographs at Institutions to capture the atmosphere of public and private objects, data and archives. From detailed drawings sketches more recently done from photograph used most often for use to be projected onto canvas. Newspapers was gouche over small drawing printed and scaled up onto card.
