‘Escape to wild woods, dizzying cliff tops and a rugged harbour.’For thirty years Mark Rochester has been a designer for the home furnishing industry here in the UK and USA, but this last year he has left his studio and painted in the open air, within a ten mile radius of his home in Ilfracombe, and revelled in the dazzling variety of landscape, from grandeur to the intimate, bewitched by the inexhaustible supply of wonderment on the most northerly edge of Devon.Mark’s paintings are full of energy and capture the special quality of light and colour associated with clifftops and coastal scenes.
