On the 11th October 2008, following the success of her project ?Artists don’t Bite’, video-media artist Margherita Gramegna will cut the ribbon to formally launch buskers ?Spot 1′, an official busking area outside Market Buildings in central Maidstone. An open celebration for all the artists involved in the film part of the project, and all the supporters, including the town population, will take place from 12 noon till 3pm. Singers, musicians, dancers, artists, will be performing to celebrate the event. The public are all invited to participate and the ?Artists don’t Bite’ people’s favourite will be announced. ?Spot 1′ will be available every Saturday between 11am & 3pm in Market Building and will be permanently allocated for artists, musicians and performers to use as a creative spot to showcase their talent. Bookings are free of charge. ?Artists don’t Bite? was funded by the Arts Council and Maidstone Borough Council and was designed to highlight Maidstone’s artistic population building bridges between the Arts and the town.
