I have decided to paint a series of Wild Flower paintings, This one it the second in the series it it smaller than the last one, the next one will be the same size. I am thinking of putting these painting in my degree show next year. It will be a series of three ‘Wild Flower’ themed pieces.
Scale is important to me I want them to be large painting so the viewer can become submerged it to the painting. I studied The Sublime in art work, for an essay and became very interested in creating that feeling in my art.
The feeling of sublime in art is greatness, magnitude and intensity in size. It becomes spiritual, overwhelming and frightening it is a pleasurable fear.
I have since changed this painting as I wasn’t pleased with it. It now looks like this.
