my painting ‘Splash’ is inspired by a painting by Anji Ar I found it on Pinterest. I loved the colours and thought I could make my own additions to in.
This is the painting a made, I started with a white wash over all of the canvas and then blended blue from bottom to top, then adding the pink over the white. I then used watered down paint and put it in a spray bottle and sprayed it on to the canvas. I really enjoy using the spray bottles it created such a good effect that I will carry on using.
Why did I use those colours? I did this because the picture that I was inspired by used the similar colour, also it comes down to mood I will only paint with light colours is a am feeling happy and positive.
Why did I use the dripping effect? some think that dripping is a sad effect symbolising depressed feelings as it looks like rain that can be linked to S.A.D (Seasonal affective disorder) which is when people get depressed in long periods of rain or dull weather. For my it is completely different I enjoy rain I find it very homely and comforting. so that is why I enjoy using that effect. I also feel that drips are kinda of a trade mark to my work.
