Hamilton MAS is delighted to invite you to the final stop of the artist Daniel & Clara’s Landscape Imaginary tour, an exhibition of moving image, polaroids and mail art to our micro arts space by the sea for the August bank holiday weekend.
The body of work to be shown here explores the relationship between psychology and place, looking at how we imbue places with meaning, and how in turn landscape, weather and the environment impact our imagination and state of mind.
“Landscape Imaginary refers to the zone where the inner and outer experiences of place exist as one, it is our psychological experience of the landscape and the dream of the landscape itself. It is the meeting point between the personal and that which lays beyond our grasp.”
Please join us for the Private View on Friday 26th August, 6pm – 8pm. We look forward to welcoming you. Details here.
As part of the artist’s weekend in Felixstowe and to accompany the exhibition Daniel & Clara are hosting a Workgroup. This free Workgroup is open up to 10 artists, writers and creatives who are interested in engaging with the themes and processes that Daniel & Clara use in their work. There will be a particular focus on the relationship between psychology and place, and how weather, landscape and environment influence creativity and imagination.
The artist will also be talking about their use of mail art, moving image and polaroid photography and how the tools they use are connected to the ideas they are exploring.
This workgroup will take place from 11am – 1.30pm on Saturday 27th August and will include visualisation exercises, a presentation, discussion, a guided sensorial walk and a mail art writing exercise.
Free to attend, please book here.
