EMERGE

Artists Saintly Amok and Jo Dacombe will create a contemplative space to explore the theme of ENERGY through a live performance and poetry reading where audiences are invited to cocoon, dropping into energies of hibernation, restoration, and germination.

The piece responds to the Garden Mud(ras) works which Saintly Amok has been developing over the last few years. Collaborating with fellow artist Jo Dacombe, they will present a meditative performance considering the theme of energy and will draw upon the seasonal rhythms at this time of year when the dark affords us with more time for rest, healing, and dreaming.

Saintly Amok is an artist working with live and participatory practices seeking ways to reconnect to nature. She draws inspiration from her Gujarati heritage and growing vegetables on her family allotment. 

Jo Dacombe is an artist and editor of IMMINENT – a zine of creative responses to environment, printed through a printer running on renewable resources and using vegetable inks on recycled paper.
 
Saintly Amok’s EMERGE and RELEASE prints are on show in the LPW members exhibition and copies of the zine will be available to purchase on the night.
 
The performance will start promptly at 6:30pm and finish around 7:30pm with a warming drink afterwards. Please wear warm and comfortable clothing, we will encourage audience to be seated on the floor, but chairs and cushions will be provided.
