Louise Renae Anderson

Artist/Weaver, Senior Lecturer in Textiles UCA Farnham, Textile Teacher City Lit London. I am an Artist who has what could be described as a ‘soft engineering’ maker mindset; exploring technical inquiry, material manipulation and craftsmanship within hand woven textiles. Working to commission creating one-off pieces which explore, challenge and continually expand my creative thinking, material understanding, structure, process and making skills. My aesthetic is of a refined subtle beauty with attention to detail of which I am particularly interested in the notion of the 'beauty in imperfection' and exploring qualities of mark making translated into textiles with a contemporary approach to design.
