Incorporating sculpture, sound and installation, Matthew Coombes’ multidisciplinary practice is concerned with concepts of boundaries and permissions, exploring the continually surprising and intriguing effect of discord between that which is expected and what is delivered. Matthew Coombes graduated from the Royal Academy Schools (2010) and Central St Martins College of Art & Design (2002). From a strong field of RA graduates he was selected to receive the Royal British Society of Sculptors, Bronze Casting Award (2010) supported by Aztec Bronze Arts Foundry to make new work which will feature in this exhibition.
