The Dancers Series by Paola Minekov was exhibited for the first time at the International Ballet Competition in Varna, Bulgaria. The exhibition gained critical acclaim and attracted a positive review by Prof. Dr. V. V. Vanslov, Director of the Research Institute of Theory and History of Fine Art at The Russian Academy of Arts, Moscow, who stated: “Creating the illusion of movement, filled with rhythm and various emotional states, is a difficult task to achieve in a painting. Paola Minekov did just this, in a way which is both convincing and original. It is difficult to find an analogue to her work among other artists.” In 2010 Paola completed 2 new paintings, based on sketches of dancers from the Royal Ballet and the Ballet Black Dance Company, which were presented for the first time during a Ballet Charity Gala at the Britten Theatre, London. The gala featured performances by dancers from the Royal Ballet, Ballet Black, Ballet Riviera, English National Ballet and independent dancers, incl. a special appearance from violinist Bradley Creswick who performed with the ballerina Antonia Franceschi.
