Fresh from the streets of New York, professor, author, activist and Yes Man Larry Bogad will host a workshop for activists and socially/ politically engaged artists interested in developing “Tactical Performance”. Participants will use original exercises and techniques adapted from rebel clowning, nonviolent civil disobedience and performance to develop ways of pulling together humor, imagination, and “serious play”. The workshop will look at how to use these techniques to help social movements and individuals communicate their ideas to larger audiences, challenge power relations in public space and pressure authorities in a nonviolent but effective way.
