Demonstrating diversity of approaches in contemporary sculpture, the new 2011 public series of exhibitions and discussions explores three distinct themes – Metropolis, Metamorphosis and Measure. Thirteen artists in total have been selected by application, five artists feature in the Metropolis exhibition, four artists in Metamorphosis and four in Measure. The second in this series is Metamorphosis. Four artists investigate ideas of perception, of known and unknown entities that engage the viewer into dialogues about life and the changing forces of nature. The works exist to challenge our understanding and what we believe to be true. Concepts of place, evolution and time provide questions that draw our attention, and that engage us to examine the impermanence of form and space.
