Celebrated filmmaker and television director Peter Anderson continues his residency in the Department for Sports Development. Currently working alongside elite athletes at the University of Bath, who are training for the Olympics and Paralympics London 2012 and beyond, Anderson’s work focuses on the Cultural Olympiad’s ethos ‘the marriage between sport and the arts’. Reflecting on influences from Eadweard Muybridge’s early pioneering work on animal locomotion that used multiple cameras and zoopraxiscopes to capture motion, Anderson presents edited content of his research alongside sketchbook and storyboarding of ideas as an on-going process in Art Space 3. His explorations will culminate in the final film Marks Set Go!, which will tour to BBC Big Screens across the South West during 2012 and will feature at the ICCI 360° Arena at Weymouth during the Olympic and Paralympic Sailing and Windsurfing events.
