From Monday 26th March a stunning six week exhibition ‘The Collective 2012’ will open in Hinckley. Formed in 2010 ‘The Collective’ are recent graduates from De Montfort University in Leicester who produce highly innovative creative craft work. All of the exhibitors have completed a BA (Hons) degree in Design Crafts which covered a wide range of disciplines from fine silver smithing, ceramics, glass, to mixed media, printing, textiles and more. The group collection is a diverse showcase of skills, fine workmanship and crafts, as each member strives to establish a career in their respective specialist field. The twelve emerging designers form ‘The Collective’ are; Katie Almond, Lucy Crisp, Sonya Viney, Katherine Staples, Samantha Robinson, Anna Bagnall, Serra Malta, Amelia Kirk, Phiona Richards, Kirsty Whitlock, Lisa Godrich and Sharyn Dunn.
