TINATA presents: A talk and performance by The Gut Club exploring “The Primary Palate”. Using foraged plants, seasonal home grown vegetables and wild meats The Gut Club will cook on an open fire in an effort to reproduce a meal available 20,000 years ago. With none, or little salt, or oil, or spices and herbs not native to the island The Gut Club invite you to taste the primal palate. The Gut Club will offer a brief talk at each stage of the performance, making the fire, preparing and butchering game and plants and cooking. A longer talk and discussion covering the enteric nervous system, or gut brain, will conclude the evening.Limited spaces. Early booking is recommended. TINATA – This Is Not A Take Away is a curatorial project that will showcase artists and non-artists who are interested in a particular approach towards how food is sourced, prepared, served or eaten. Every first Thursday of the month a different host cook, will serve food to the guest audience while engaging in a dialogue about their concept-idea. From primitive palette to emotional eating, from recipes as memories to family roles dynamics, this series of events will explore the way we experience food from new and fascinating points of view. The events will be taking place in different locations around East London.
