Installation tomorrow. Today I have been putting the sound bits into the tubes and had a trying day as I have discovered that a project conceived in January in the cold weather is not necessarily the same on a hot May day. The plastic tubes are refusing to play ball. Wheras my four sample Fruitflowers worked perfectly up until the weekend they are now refusing to make the right sound.
Having put some of the ‘sound bits’ into the freezer, I have established that it is a heat issue. I don’t think there is anything I can do about this. We will have the noises that we have. They may not be quite what I had planned.
It will be a completely improvised performance.
