Junction is a free contemporary arts festival taking place in Chapel Ash, Wolverhampton. For the second year running Junction will bring together a broad spectrum of work from over 75 local and regional artists including visual art, live art, performance, video projection, interventions, poetry and music, all in a lively three day programme. Audiences will have the opportunity to look around artist’s studios, with White Tree Studios and Eagle Works opening their doors to the public during the weekend. This year’s festival will see new work by selected artists responding directly to Chapel Ash, with inspiration from the area’s architecture, businesses, history and identity. A commissioned artist will create a temporary light art installation that will be partially visible at day and will come alive at night. Junction is organised by Wolverhampton Contemporary Art Forum, a group comprised of practising visual artists, performance artists and musicians. WCAF aim to raise the profile of contemporary art in Wolverhampton and promote the networking of visual arts practice across the city. With generous support from Arts Council England, Wolverhampton Art Gallery and Marston’s Brewery, as well as many other local businesses we are able to bring you this exciting festival, contributing to the vibrant and upbeat feel of this edge of city-centre community.
