One week until I leave…
It’s funny how things come around so quickly. I found out that my application for this residency was successful in May this year, and when I asked if I could take my four week residency in November, it seemed so far away, and now it is seven days and seven hours until I fly.
I’m getting unusually giddy about it (I’m normally quite placid about most things). I think because it’s much further away than I’ve ever worked before (I’ve been lucky enough to create international exchanges in Europe with POST liverpool and to be selected to attend 2 exhibitions in Europe) and for longer than I’ve worked away before – the longest residency period has been 15 days.
I’m hoping that the four weeks is long enough for things to develop while I’m there, but still short enough to be intensive, which spurs me on to make new work. I’ll try and post some background information about my plans over the next week before I leave.
I’m off to get more giddy…
