CAROL ANDERSON-KNIGHT, GILL CAPEWELL,HERMIONE CARLINE, INGRID LUCAS We live in a world besieged by media images and the predominance of the real over the imagined. This insatiable desire for a meticulous reality can deny the possibility of alternative realities that may be found beneath the surface.Four London artists come together for the first time to present their work in one of London’s most dramatic art venues.The group show features work which converges around a common set of ideas encapsulated by the show’s title ‘Everything we See is Something Besides’. The artists explore the theme through investigations of the human form, politics and conflict, and notions of landscape and memory, producing work which is relevant and reflective of the contemporary world. The exhibition includes painting and works on paper.
