Bohemian, 2013.
I was approached by a fellow artist to exhibit an artwork for the exhibition he curated at the Bethesda Chapel in Stoke-on-Trent. His idea was for me to exhibit an existing sculpture I had made due to the time constraints and the mountainous university work we had to complete.
However, knowing myself too well, it was not me to just put a sculpture anywhere without any relevance. I had also at this point been very interested in abandoned buildings and site specific art after having completed the [OCCUPIED] event and the Interim 13 exhibiton.
My first interest is exhibiting in a gallery context, but becuase I actively work on two or more series of artworks at any one point, I am also very interested in creating site specific art and how I can merge the two together.
I have become very interested in the architecture of the spaces I work in and have been exploring this through the use of industrial string that is used in the construction of buildings.
I did not have the time to take photographs of this work as I had a deadline in the same week for the Professional Practice modue and was advised that the attached images were not the best photographs taken, another fine art photographer has taken superb ones. He has not got back to me just yet, typical artist. Haha.
