Twenty five artists from East London Printmakers will be participating in an exhibition at the Westminster Reference Library that interprets Borges’ concept of ‘Unending:’ “The universe (which others call the Library) is composed of an indefinite and perhaps infinite number of hexagonal galleries, with vast air shafts between, surrounded by very low railings…I say that the Library is unending.” The Library of Babel, Jorge Luis Borges. This is an exhibition of artists’ books inspired by, or relating to the library or its collection in some way. The artists have interpreted the concept of the book without restriction in terms of form or medium. The exhibition will be opened by Maria White, Chief Cataloguer at the Tate.
