Pennina Barnett, founding Co-Editor of Textile: The Journal of Cloth and Culture, will give a short presentation of her current research and early curatorial work in textiles, including The Subversive Stitch exhibition (Cornerhouse 1988-9). This will be followed by an ‘in conversation’ with Victoria Mitchell, lecturer at Norwich University of the Arts, in which they discuss the legacy of feminist art historian Rozsika Parker’s (1945- 2010) pioneering book, The Subversive Stitch, Embroidery and the Making of the Feminine (1984).
