This show has been organised to promote and highlight the fantastic work being produced in the Sutton and surrounding area’s.
Students and alumni from UCC (University Centre Croydon) aswell as another local artist have organised; in a relatively short period of time and with almost no money this high street exhibition. The temporary space was provided by Modernaart.co.uk who offer spaces to artists and photographers throughout the country to put on shows in empty high street shops. Printmaking, photography, painting and other hands-on creative skills are promoted and utilised in the creation of work at UCC and it is these traditional skills (having been kept alive in the increasingly digital age) that has inspired the selection process for this show; inevitably the use of digital technology in it’s many forms is not far away and has a presence within the show. There will be special guests at the private view day in the form of the DiningRoom Drawing Club inspiring the public to engage with the project.
