I worked at a place that supplied plastic parts to the world – crutch tips, castors, etc. in a rural location. Once a farm, some of the buildings were all of a farm type, and were used to store the thousands of plastic parts in stacks of boxes on metal shelving. One evening, all of the storage buildings caught fire, and burnt down – as did an ancient adjacent barn. What remained was a mini-wasteland of plastic that had been melded together by the heat. This work (and another) reclaimed some of this moment in a story to keep forever.
