Carolyn Corfield’s sculpture for this visually stimulating and eclectic display references Steampunk culture by allusion to Victorian innovation in tandem with current ventures into the sphere of bionic superpower. Her figurative wallpieces, combining ceramic with clock parts and found objects, hark back to the Railway’s role in the standardization of time throughout the UK. ‘Freepass’, a mixed media exhibition, curated by and featuring the textiles and paintings of Catherine Howard, examines railway journeys from Darlington to destinations around Great Britain. Talks and workshops are available throughout this event. Normal entrance fee applies and booking for workshops is essential. Contact 01325 460532/[email protected]
