This painting represents a journey through life for Mr Frederick Smarmsworth, It’s taken me all semester to get how to do this – I have painted it and destroyed it a little more each time I’ve gone back to it. My relationship with painting is often that way, and I have always enjoyed destroying something that I’ve spent so long on. I like to bring chance into the equation by letting natural elements have a say. At this stage, the painting certainly represents murder, but not the darkest death of the four living souls …
