Tha Click is a group exhibition of work by the American art crew Paper Rad along with founding Beige member Paul B. Davis. Seizing upon the technological detritus spawned by advancements in computing over the last three decades, Beige’s inclination is to tinker with the inner workings of ubiquitous digital platforms past and present. Paper Rad are similarly drawn to the gaudiest fixtures of pop culture, transmogrifying and amplifying them into a kaleidoscopic parallel universe all their own. This exhibition explores these two collectives’ shared history stemming from their time at art college together in America, resulting in a unique but linked aesthetic that reveals their influences on one another. These artists offer a rich multidisciplinary practice that blurs the lines between art, music, computer programming and design, all within a social framework characterised by collaboration and flexibility. This is a touring exhibition curated by Heather Corcoran in association with SCAN, the media arts agency for the South of England. Special thanks to E:vent Gallery, London.
