This year’s Salon Art Prize – Susanna Brown, Curator of Photographs, Victoria & Albert Museum; Gavin Delahunty, Head of Exhibitions, TATE Liverpool; Anthony Spira, Director, MK Gallery; and Godfrey Worsdale, Director, BALTIC – have awarded the overall £8,000 prize to Gateshead-based artist Jennifer Douglas, for her digital print Fun.
For his 2012 work Artist with Crescent Moon, Adam Holmes-Davies received the Painting Prize of £1,000 plus £500 of art materials and a solo exhibition. The Slade and Courtauld Institute graduate Aliki Braine has won the £500 Photography Award; and RCA sculpture graduate Emma Alonze the £500 Sculpture Prize.
Founded in 2006, the Salon Art Prize is an open submission exhibition run by not-for-profit organisation Matt Roberts Arts. Each year around 100 artists are exhibited in a Salon-style show and prize monies of around £10,000 are awarded.
