Artists with a fondness for camping and adventure are invited to attend TENTERPLAY, ‘a survival camp for artist-led practice’ that will take place in Castle Cary, Somerset during one weekend this June.
Following on from INTERPLAY in November 2012, the artist collective Hand in Glove (Leela Clarke, Vickie Fear, Dominique Hill and Cara Lockley)isstaging its second event with the aim of ‘reigniting conversation from the first meet-up and encouraging future dialogue between artists and artist-led groups, projects, spaces and arts initiatives.’
Having asked attendees of INTERPLAY what format they would like Part 2 to take, the event organisers reported that the majority suggested a camping/road trip type experience and so the idea to host it on a farm was born.
“Both INTERPLAY and TENTERPLAY offer an open platform for artists and artist-led projects to share practice,” say Hand in Glove. “Key to this exchange is meeting face-to-face and discussing processes in a social setting. By creating a space for dialogue around artist-led activity experience and good practice can be shared; strengthening the sector more widely. It will fun and informative, sociable, intriguing and unforgettable.”
The event is free to attend. The booking deadline is 1 June, though Hand in Glove recommend booking early as there are limited spaces around the campfire. The exact address and directions will be sent to everyone that books for TENTERPLAY.
