The 16th Tallinn Print Triennial: Literacy – Illiteracy, Tallinn, Estonia
With a particular focus on developments in graphic art in the Baltic region, the 16th Tallinn Print Triennial explores the relationship between visual art and literacy, and text and language in the 21st century. Curated by Danish curator and art critic Maria Kjær Themsen, Nordic and international artists and printmakers are also represented, with work ranging from more traditional graphic art to those created using digital media.

Material Art Fair, Mexico City, Mexico
This new international contemporary art fair focuses on emerging practices, with 40 invited galleries, project spaces and non-profit organisations represented. With a strong focus on Mexico’s project space scene, the fair also includes exhibitors from USA and Europe. In addition, the fair features a talks series looking at contemporary art in Mexico, including: ‘Is Mexico City a New Berlin?’ (Friday); ‘Mexico City, Capital of the Americas?’ (Saturday); and ‘What is a Latin American Artist Today?’ (Sunday).

Poetry will be made by all!, Zurich, Switzerland
The inaugural 89plus exhibition, co-curated by Hans Ulrich Obrist, Simon Castets and Kenneth Goldsmith, brings together works from international poets and writers within displays created by designers, visual artists and architects. Inspired by the 1969 exhibition, Transform the world! Poetry must be made by all!, curated by Ronald Hunt for the Moderna Museet in Stockholm, the show aims to highlight the renewed importance of the written word in the digital age.

The First International Biennial of Contemporary Art of Cartagena de Indias, Cartagena, Colombia
Founded in 1533, Cartagena de Indias is a colonial town on the north eastern coast of Colombia, and is regarded by many as one of the most beautiful cities in the Caribbean.
This inaugural biennial reflects on the cultural traditions of the area with work that embraces literature, cinema, music, dance and crafts. Focusing on the idea of ‘presence’, the biennial is structured as a journey through nine locations, and features site-specific projects, performances, exhibitions and a film and lecture programme.

Dhaka Art Summit, Bangladesh
This second edition of the summit, organised by the Samdani Art Foundation, presents over 250 artists from South Asian countries and includes solo projects, curated exhibitions, public art, performances and film screenings. The festival features presentations from 32 local and international galleries, all of which are supported the Samdani Art Foundation. The foundation has also collaborated with the Delfina Foundation to award an outstanding young Bangladeshi artist the opprtunity to attend a three-month residency at in London as part of the Samdani Art Award.
