Two new additions to a-n’s board will bring “fresh ideas and insights” to the organisation, says a-n Director Susan Jones. The new board members are Dan Thompson and Tamsin Cox.
Based in Margate, Thompson is an artist, writer and director of Revolutionary Arts. Speaking about his appointment, he said: “a-n has been hugely influential since Revolutionary Arts was founded and I became brave enough to call myself an artist. Organising things in a small town, a-n was support for and validation of my own unusual practice and our work as a group. So it’s an honour to be asked to contribute at a time of change.”
Tamsin Cox is a cultural researcher and Head of Policy and Research at DHA Communications, based in Liverpool. “I am excited to be joining the a-n Board at this important time,” she said. “a-n has a growing membership, and the role of a-n in supporting artists of diverse practice at all stages of their careers is crucial to the overall health of the arts.”
a-n’s director Susan Jones, who is stepping down in September, said: “Interviews for a new Executive Director to succeed me are now in train following excellent applications. In the ever-more complex environment for the visual arts, we’re pleased to welcome in new advisers to the a-n network – people who have fresh ideas and insights to bring into the next chapter in our development.”
