The Artistic Urge from Prehistory to the Present.

This is the most recent art work that ive been working on. I have used unwanted canvases again. I arranged them together to make a square about a meter by a meter. I have used acrylic, emulsion, oil paint, oil stick and sand to create texture. I wish to experiment with other powdered substances to see what textures I can create. I have only put a thin layer of paint over some areas so that some of the previous painting is revealed, see image 2 and 3. Im not sure if it is finished yet. I have used bold colours in this painting but think subtle colours create a better overall effect so I will return to these in future works. I like the way that the face and the eyes show through from the previous paintings. Its like life, nothing from the past is ever truly erased, traces are left.
