A new festival showcasing time-based media and live events by young artists and curators takes place this weekend in Dalston, London.
OPEN SOURCE will present films, live performances and installations, including 24 works that will be shown for the first time.
Highlighting art as a collaborative process, each artist has been selected by a member of the curatorial panel: Emily Butler, Gareth Bell-Jones, Marie d’Elbée, Attilia Fattori Franchini, Anna Gritz, Morgan Quaintance, Chris Rawcliffe and Amy Sherlock.
The lineup of artists includes Lawrence Lek, recent winner of the Dazed Emerging Artist competition, plus video and comic book artist David Blandy. Other names on the list include Larry Achiampong, Majed Aslam, Anna Barham, Behind the X, Eloise Bonneviot and Ben Cain.
Tereza Buskova, who is exhibiting her video The Baked Woman Of Doubice, said: “It was great to be selected by Amy Sherlock. It’s a unique and different festival, but most of all it is a fun event that will engage art lovers as well as the general public passing by.”
