Soror
Ten female artists respond to the concept of the safehouse, both as a sanctuary and a metaphor for the artists’ unconscious and the secrets that reside within it. The works in the exhibition are an embodiment of secret messages waiting to be decoded by the visitor; from solitary audio walks to design riddles. Artists include Anne Harild (image above), Beatrice Lettice Boyle, Emma Rudge and Rachel Emily Taylor.

Goonhilly Village Green
As a pilot for their Arts Council England-funded project into the distinctive site of the ‘first transatlantic television transmissions’, artists Sara Bowler and Elizabeth Masterton have created a temporary village green on Goonhilly Downs. A day-long programme of events includes artists’ commissions, and workshops on bushcraft, talks and trails that consider the ‘heritage of Goonhilly Earth Station’.

ABOUT THE FEELING WHEN YOU ARE GOING UP THE STAIRS IN THE DARK…
An exhibition that explores the unknown, bringing together eight artists whose work requires a double take or a second look. Curated by Linda Reif and Andreas Walden, the concept for this exhibition infers and references that hazy moment of uncertainty when an experience, individual or artist is between the end and the beginning of something new.

The Metamorphosis
This exhibition from The Tunnel Collective – a London-based group of artists, poets and thinkers who seek to have greater agency over their modes of exhibiting and selling – references Franz Kafka’s novella Metamorphosis, with a range of works from Genevieve Leavold, Jessica Ballantyne, Chris Paul Godber, Jamie Stanton, Mathew Tudor, Lauren Mele, Mervyn Syna, Elena Dimitrova, Robyn Lichfield, Matthew Randle and Julie Ann.

Dirt & Diamonds: Bideford Black – Next Generation
Eleven artists have been commissioned to explore the qualities of Bideford Black – a black coal pigment found in the North Devon landscape that has been used for artistic, industrial and military purposes. Tabatha Andrews, ATOI, Luce Choules, Corinne Felgate, Neville and Joan Gabie, Ian Cook, Littlewhitehead, Lizzie Ridout, and Sam Treadaway explore the qualities and history of this dark, sticky substance. Film-maker Liberty Smith has spent the last year following the artists’ experiments and her resulting film will feature in the exhibition.
