No Man is an Island
To raise awareness of the approaching United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP21), Faye Pearson Jones is exhibiting a body of work that explores climate migration. Alongside her figurative paintings, the artist has created a suspended sculpture of bronze and driftwood. The works sit as part of a group show of Liverpool-based artists.

Somerset Art Weeks Festival 2015
For this year’s edition of the Somerset-wide arts festival, a new hackerspace in Yeovil will open its doors, Simon Lee Dicker will reveal the results of his 6-month residency in a twineworks and Alice Maddicott’s Car Boot Museum will tour the county. With over 350 artists taking part, it is not only the week’s theme that has ‘Momentum.’

K6 is a brand new non-profit gallery in Southampton, perhaps one of the smallest in the city – converted as it is from two grade II listed red telephone boxes. The inaugural residency-exhibition by Portsmouth-based collective Stair/Slide/Space will see the evolution of a process-led piece based on conversations and interactions with those who come into contact with these renovated Kiosk 6s.

The Excursionist – How can tourism work for art and art work for tourism?
b-side return to the Isle of Portland with this two-day symposium that explores the relationship between art and the tourism industries. Participants including Artangel co-director James Lingwood, artists Katrina Palmer and Alistair Gentry and local authority and environment representatives, will consider how art can play a responsible and sustainable role in rural tourism.

Harvest Film Festival
Taking place in the out buildings of the organic smallholding, Lower Hewood Farm and then touring to Open School East in London (7 November), this critically-minded film festival curated by Maria Benjamin considers food production, ecology and how agricultural land is used.
