Durham Cathedral, the greatest Norman building in England perhaps even Europe, plays host to Winter Offerings. A mixed media selling exhibition of paintings, pencil drawing, textiles, glass, ceramics and sculpture by 22 members of Interface Arts. Displayed within the Galilee Chapel the range and quality of the work will intrigue and delight. Paintings by Durham artist, Wendy Parkin, allude to the coming festive season, whilst a sculpture (image) by Darlington based Carolyn Corfield features Braille text, inviting tactile exploration. Throughout the event one of the exhibiting artists will be on hand to assist with any queries and enhance the visitor experience. Do come along, anticipate Christmas in this wonderfully atmospheric building and enjoy a ‘visual’ feast.
