Mariele Neudecker, The Nunnery, London
This set of photographs was created during Mariele Neudecker’s residency at the Museum of Design in Plastics (MoDiP) and the Arts University Bournemouth. Influenced by traditional still-life vanitas, she restages the seemingly disparate plastic objects, giving them new meaning relating to consumerism, waste and sustainability.

Ciara Phillips, CCA, Derry
For her first solo exhibition in the UK since being nominated for the Turner Prize in 2014, Ciara Phillips presents a new body of prints developed from photographs of her friends taken in their places of work. Screenprinted on fabric with layers of colour and text, they explore how the private and public realm are becoming increasingly indistinguishable.

This exhibition brings together a selection of paintings produced by Martyn Brewster over the last 25 years. Inspired by the light on the sea of the south coast – where the artist lives and works – the images tread a delicate line between landscape and abstraction.

John Goto, Old Fire Station, Oxford
Local Oxford artist John Goto explores the city’s history through his photo-digital artworks. Prompted by John Betjeman’s stereotyped view of the area in An Oxford University Chest (1938), Goto offers a divergent account of the locale and its people during the 1930s.

The First Humans, Plymouth Arts Centre, Plymouth
This group exhibition features six artists who produce work imbued with a slightly prehistoric feel. Examples include Andy Harper’s installation which has an ancient, tribal quality, and Caroline Achaintre’s wall hanging that evokes primitive cave-dwelling. Also featuring Salvatore Arancio, Vidya Gastaldon, Ben Rivers and Jack Strange.
