Black, faceless, fleece-teddies have been released into the Art & Design Gallery. They are climbing, travelling, exploring and infesting, perhaps considering escape. UH Galleries is delighted to present a site-specific installation spanning the vast glazed front wall of the Art & Design Gallery launching a new body of work by highly regarded British artist Permindar Kaur.
Spanning three decades, Permindar’s artistic practice has consistently explored the human condition, who we are and where we belong. Her signature polar-fleece protagonists combine the innocence of cuddly toys with an underlying threat or vulnerability.
A publication will accompany this exhibition with an essay by Richard Cork.
