The waves were roaring this day under a bright blue sky, to be able to create art here is a privilege, the space is art itself. The environment really is constantly changing, whenever I map out the space with art…it has disappeared by the next visit. I feel that with gallery spaces you are expecting to see art but to see these creations on the beach could make you wonder whether a human or nature was the artist. It could be said that the artist is the viewer as they decide whether or not it is art through piecing the image together, is the art I’ve made still art if no other people saw it?
Site Specific Spurn Art
This blog will document the live art I create at Spurn and my experience of the environment. Focusing on the 'psycho-geography' of the place I aim to explore all aspects of my surroundings, natural and synthetic.
