Altered Landscapes 2
Provoked by the discourse around the refugee crisis, Juan DelGado has filmed the routes taken by refugees through Greece, Macedonia and Calais. The immersive video installation presented at Watermans invites the viewer to bear witness to the reshaping of the continent through the newly militarised control areas and borders. DelGado will be participating in a series of workshops that run alongside the exhibition, including a symposium on 21 May exploring how art can catalyse debate around human rights.

Curious House
Lyndall Phelps, Rachel Emily Taylor, Louise Finney and Caroline Claisse each respond site-specifically to Bishops’ House in Sheffield, a timber-framed property dating from the 1500s. With an emphasis on the people who occupy or have occupied this historic house, projects include a participatory work with current volunteers at the museum and a fragmented projection-based work that draws on an interview with the last resident of the property, whose family moved out in 1973.

Penarth Open Art Exhibition 2016
From over 130 submissions, this year’s annual Open Art Exhibition at Penarth Pier Pavilion features 27 artists and makers based throughout South Wales and the UK. From ceramics to video, the exhibitions includes works by Gordon Dalton, Eluned Glyn, Frances Rushworth and Jiang Yuxue.

Journaling: Journal as Ritual with Clare Whistler
Life-long journal keeper Clare Whistler talks about this ritualistic and self-disciplined practice that has become the core of her artistic process. Inviting other members of the audience and Blue Monkey Network to bring along their own diaries and sketch-books, a two-hour mini-exhibition will take place alongside the conversation, in which Whistler introduces a range of her artworks and projects – from 20 years of photographing the same tree to 12 years of filling and photographing boxes.

Points of Departure
Silver Vine Arts are departing from the Queen of Bradgate, their home and regular exhibition space, to find pastures new with the intent of occupying a range of discussed spaces around Leicester for future projects. Points of Departure marks the group’s final exhibition in the space, with a range of works on display from artists including recently ACE-supported artist-in-residence, Leila Houston.
