Focus LDN is returning for its second groundbreaking exhibition of 2016, The Londoner’s Compass
Set in the prestigious Strand Gallery in Charing Cross this October 19th – 23rd The Londoner’s Compass is set to explore the voices resonating within the city. In an artistic investigation of the urban environment and social narrative of London this exhibition will offer reflection and insight into the home of over 8.6 million people.
The myriad of cultures working together within an urban landscape so steeped in history has influenced our rich social fabric. As the city continues to evolve at an unprecedented rate, we consider how the arts are responding to the social and physical changes of London in 2016.
Over the last six months Focus LDN has been gathering emerging and internationally exhibiting artists working within London. Individually inspired by life within our remarkable city, the artwork exhibited displays the highest level of skill and ingenuity. From the most complex representational artworks to the most dynamic styles of abstraction, The Londoner’s Compass is proud to be showcasing only the finest contemporary paintings, drawings, sculpture and photography.
Focus LDN is donating 5% of profits to The Connection at St Martin’s, a charity based in the heart of Westminster and the UKs busiest homelessness day centre, providing the specialist services needed to support people away from the streets. Part of their holistic approach includes therapeutic arts & crafts activities, which result in several yearly exhibitions of homeless people’s artwork. This is a huge boost to their confidence and wellbeing, as well as being a source of income for those who sell their work.
