The Mohammed VI Museum Of Modern and Contemporary Art is in the centre of Rabat not far from the train station and near Terminus Hotel Showcasing a sun terrace and views of the city. It is a large sold building having a brightness and lightness with colourful artwork images running along its sides.
Downstairs is a huge space containing new and Contemporary works, including work by Mohamed Arejdal an artist I met and made friends with at the Marrakech Biennale 6 in February this year.
Sandra Bouguerch is an interdisciplinary artist who creates artworks and atmospheres revolving around the ‘exploration of self’; focusing on what it means to be human. Her practice primarily uses video, installation and performance amongst other various relevant mediums to investigate discomfort, sexuality, need and the desire for human connection. Her ongoing interest is ‘The Temporal Experiences of Awareness and Tension in Relation to the Notion of Self’ encompasses dilemma, power and risk. She currently is a studio holder at Neo:artist based in Bolton and a Castlefield Gallery associate member.
