This National Conference on Contemporary Cast Iron Art and Practices is a biennial convergence of students, educators, academics, and professionals dedicated to exploring and advancing cast iron as an art medium.
‘Women at Work’ is a durational and female only day performance working with a series of domesticated objects (such as mop heads, hot water bottles, dusters, colanders for example) that will become subverted by industrial materials (iron) and processes (casting and mould making); and therefore questioning juxtaposition between the roles of gender.
