The workshop will take the form of a walk, discussion and some practical exercises that will take place on Milton Keynes’ Redways.
The Redways are MK’s unique green, transport network on which Hayley will spend a residency period from 5th May cycling and walking, to explore how it might be considered as an alternative shared public space and solution towards a low carbon future.
Together we will explore creative approaches to making site-specific work, including subjective processes of documenting, fictioning, drawing and using embodied experience to gather and process information. We will reflect on how the local connects to the global when considering the notion of place and the specifics of the workshops location.
The Redways will be the site at which we practically develop performances, stories and ideas in situ, and as such we advise participants bring suitable footwear and clothing for working outdoors in all weathers.
After the workshop, Hayley will lead a formation cycling session and a celebratory preview evening which we invite you to stay and be a part of. If you don’t have a bike but want to join in the formation cycling, there are Santander bikes nearby to hire and we’ll send information about all of this upon ticket booking.
