This month we join with Devonshire Collective for the Devonshire Made Showcase event, part of the DC Cafe Culture programme. Please note that on this occasion you do need to book your tickets. The £5 ticket price includes light refreshments of food and a drink.
Five Sussex artists selected from an open call by a panel of judges will be exhibiting their work at DC1 Cafe and Gallery from the 16th December. The judging panel aimed to bring together a group of artists at various stages of their arts careers who it was thought could benefit most from the support offered by DC and by exhibiting alongside each other as a group. They looked at the quality of the art work submitted and the artist’s experience to date, as well as how the individual art works would work together in an exhibition.
Each of the five selected artists will deliver a short talk for us at the Showcase event on the 16th. The event also includes tastings of local food and drink (included in the ticket price), an opportunity to view the exhibition, learn more about the artists and their work, and socialise with other artists in relaxed surroundings for a pre-Christmas celebration of Sussex art and artists.
