The date 3.11 is not in the forefront of everyone’s consciousness. News events move on and we begin to forget. But some events have such serious consequences that we must remember them.

This new exhibition by artists and curators collective Art Action UK and White Conduit Project, seeks to highlight the issues derived from the triple disaster that hit Fukushima in 2011 seven years ago. A point of No Return features artists works dealing with the enor- mity of that disaster, while providing opportunities for us to contemplate the consequence of the human cause of the Nuclear Anthropocene.

The perspectives and the manner in which each artist is engaging with the issues are vast- ly different from each other and indeed, the issues themselves are complex and multilay- ered. They cannot be reduced to simple, unified themes. So our aim is to present you with a collection of works resulting from the conscious efforts of the artist who are grappling with these issues.

Fukushima Mon Amour is a young artists collective consisting of, Yoi Kawakubo, Pedro Inoue, Tita Salina, Irwan Armett and Paribartana Mohanty, Kaori Homma, Howard Sooley, Shono Yanai

Art Action UK is a collective of artists, curators, gallerists and writers who are exploring various means to show solidarity and support for people who have been affected by disasters. We have been providing independent residency programmes for artists dealing with the subsequent issue derived from the 2011 Japanese earthquake, tsunami and Fukushima nuclear disaster. All the profit from the Silent Auction, as well as a percentage of the sales of art works from this Exhibition will go towards AAUK projects.
