A collaborative commission by Llangattock Green Valleys CIC (LGV) to create an audio/visual installation using sounds and visuals recorded during the construction of a recently completed micro-hydro scheme at Blaen Dyar above the Clydach Gorge.
Penny Hallas and Leona Jones were in-residence recording sounds and images at Blaen Dyar with the first spadesful of earth being dug in February 2017, following the process through the positioning of the pipes, the construction of the turbine house, to the first full generation of electricity in October 2017. The residencies marked the anniversary of the founding of LGV and offered the perfect opportunity to celebrate LGV’s 10-year success in developing renewable energy schemes.
Financial support has been given by LGV, LGV and artists have received an investment from A&BCymru’s CultureStep to strengthen and develop their creative partnership. The project is further supported by the Sustainable Development Fund – Brecon Beacons National Park Authority.
