Viewpoint – a position giving a good view, an opinion, a point of view, a perspective, a belief, or a school of thought.
In their latest exhibition Gordano Textile Artists, a group of eleven artists from Bristol and the surrounding area, interpret Viewpoint through contemporary textile art.
Each Artist has their own distinct style and use techniques such as hand & machine embroidery, print, mixed media, dry needle felt, quilt art and weaving, resulting in a diverse and stimulating exhibition.
Highlights include: conversations & portraits observed in a coffee shop and recorded with machine embroidery on tea cups made of cloth; a study of holes and circles made in paper & stitch; delicate leaf patterns printed onto cloth; beachcombing treasures trapped beneath transparent fabric; beautiful vibrant flowers created with fabric & stitch and careful observed studies of garden birds created with wool felt.
Open daily from 10-5pm, closed Sundays and bank holiday Monday
