Class of 2020: Georgia Duncan

“I want to interrogate what a landscape can be,” says Georgia Duncan, who combines painting and drawing in her practice to experiment with depth and depiction. Beginning with fast, playful and gestural watercolour, in order to manifest a world stemming from her imagination, she then instinctively layers with ink, acting as a navigational tool, to create a graphic play on dimensionality and abstraction.
“I want the viewer to spend time questioning the tangible world, and how we introject ourselves into open spaces which seem far more knowing than ourselves,” she says.
