Whoops!

This blog post seems to have become detached from it's parent blog!

I’ve done another drawing, but this time is only the outline of the hallway and not shaded. This is because I’m going to do the rest digitally, including drawing the tentacles.

I’ve been drawing using rulers, protractors and set squares, to measure the angles of the drawing so that it has visual depth created mathematically as opposed to intuition. It’s how artists in the Renaissance created artwork, especially to do with architecture and buildings. They used a grid method to divide the scene they were going to draw to create a realistic appearance.

I’ve been using doors in my work a lot lately, because they create barriers in what the eye can see, and the hidden. What is on the other side is imagined when the door is closed or partially open.
